My life has been a rollercoaster of events, fortunes, and trends that have taken me to places most people can’t fathom experiencing in a lifetime. Whether by my own doing, or by the hands of fate, I’ve been able to chase my dreams in making music, in beginning careers, and even in becoming a Twitch streamer and speedrunner. My life in speedrunning has led me to this wonderful crossroads where I know that, just beyond the horizon, I can help the community I love so much, that has fostered my hobby into something I can live from, to establish a monument to those that came before me; those that made our hobby into a worldwide phenomenon that has became one of the prevalent competitive gaming fields.
I knew that I would never be able to do it alone, however. Dreams are dreams, but only those that act upon them will ever experience true triumph. Sure, I certainly could have taught myself to program, or to simply hire a team of coders that I couldn’t afford. But see, that’s where I count my blessings as a streamer; thanks to my many years of speedrunning highs and lows, I was able to meet a wonderful group of folks (and honestly, friends) that have brought me (and us) to the precipice of making our dreams a reality: being able to give back to the community that has given us so much. These people can do in a day, and do better, anything I could hope to achieve in a week. Without them, I am nothing.

I came up with the idea last September, in 2021. I recruited a few people I knew I’d need to achieve this goal. Iceblue, who is one of my best friends, is an established streamer with a loyal fanbase. Recently partnered, he has a speedrunning pedigree that matches my own at the very least. He has achieved so much as a randomizer racer, and most importantly, has established a reputation of loyalty, of integrity, and most importantly, of a wonderful person that will always stand up for what is right. He has stepped up to help the team run our Twitch operations, once we reach the point where we can begin streaming.
My great friend Lylovir is a wonderful programmer, a talented streamer, and a brilliant and creative mind. He has really helped me to get this idea off the ground. Once of the original team, he will help us to get the beast that is the SHoF (and affiliated pages) up-and-running. Alongside the equally-talented and awesome CilleyPerson (a great friend that helped me get my own website up, and has really kickstarted the development of the SHoF), the sky’s the limit when it comes to what the SHoF can achieve in the future! These two have taken it upon themselves to help me and the team cultivate ideas into reality, and for that I am eternally grateful.

OnlyLevelOne was another one of the original team from September 2021. He is the best video editor I’ve ever met, and I have met quite a few. The man is uber-talented, and can create amazing montages and edits from a few ideas and a few sentences. He’s also extremely detail-oriented, creative, and wise, and a great streamer in his own right. Along with the witty, clever, and outside-the-box thinking of our newest member, MeaCulpa, these two wonderful people will help us to make amazing video content, as well as help pay homage to the first (and future) classes of the SHoF.
And of course, finally, my partner on the Orange Team, Jdurg. One of my longest friends, he and I have lifted each other off the proverbial boxing mat for years. Watching him become a world-class speedrunner (and talented streamer as well) has been quite the treat, and his assistance in ensuring that the SHoF is both a place of integrity as much as a place of interest has been integral in achieving our dream.
This wonderful group of seven people are the most talented assembly of folks I’ve ever been associated with. I feel like I chose exactly who I wanted, and I was able to gather the Avengers first try. I am the luckiest man in the world. And I cannot wait to show the world my passion and fervor when it comes to representing the many people, viewers, runners, and fans of the greatest sport I’ve ever known, a spectacle that so many relate to whether they know it or not: we get to represent all the hours of frustration, of practice, of resets and RIP’d runs, and all the heartbreak, as well as all the PBs, the triumphs, the “that never happened before!”s, and of course, all the rekkies.

I know that a lot of speedrunners that inspired me to pick the hobby up have long-since moved on. Some of them are running other sites, where others have simply moved on to the next phase of their lives. For me, my dream has been to give them all a place where their achievements and memories can live on forever. I want everyone, both present and future, to recognize the people that got us as a community to where we are now. The roads of smooth runs, frame-perfect skips, and sequence breaks, were paved with hundreds of thousands of hours of hard work by those that might otherwise be forgotten.
I refuse to let that happen.
If you’re a speedrunner, I want you to know how awesome you are. I want you to know that your achievements aren’t lost on me, or on us. I am consistently blown away with what people achieve in video games, and I hope that we can be the driving force in remembering, honoring, and celebrating the best in the history of speedrunning. Join us, and together, we can make it so that we remember those trailblazers forever.
May speedrunning live forever, and may your next run be THE run.
